Miss Barlow

If you’ve been intrigued enough to come to the ‘about me’ page then thank you! We hope that you have found something on this blog that you can relate to, learn from or most importantly, be inspired by!

Lizzy is an adventurous Scorpio, born in November. By age 22 she had ventured to  22 countries, trained as a lifeguard, qualified as a wedding planner, cycled the London to Brighton twice, bought a house, and currently works in Event Management. Born and raised a Hampshire girl in Southern England she’s always had itchy feet and an urge to seek out every corner of the earth.

For Lizzy, being in and out of international airports is a dream, so discovering more amazing cuisines, cultures, languages and people is heaven itself!

“I admire anyone that steps beyond their front door and goes exploring, whether you’re a tourist on a two week package holiday or a traveller on month 9 of a year long trip we all see the world in different ways, it’s what makes us unique!”

“I have had the most incredible opportunities to visit Europe, Asia, Australasia, South America, the Caribbean, and so much more. One of the most magical places has to be Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean, one ATM on the Island and not a MacDonald’s in sight – Ideal! check out my blog here.”

Lizzy has always tried to be as spontaneous as possible. We think it’s just as important to see the country you live in as well as the world we make up. Whether a last-minute glamping weekend in Dorset or a mini-break in Rome, it’s an adventure all the same. In the last two years Lizzy found herself boating off Queensland’s gold coast, wine tasting in the Adelaide Hills, cycling around the Amsterdam canals and eating her way around Athens. The next adventure is yet to be decided, recently added to the bucket list is the Rickshaw Rally across India and riding Route 66. So watch this space!

Inspiration….

Most people have someone that inspires them, well Lizzy has a few!

Aside from the most important, her dad,  her uncles and aunties (she has quite a few). One of them represented his country in the Olympics; two of them sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in a small yacht, both of which are incredible achievements. Then there is her sister, who has a wicked flare for writing herself, and an incredible imagination.

  • Beautiful site. Love your adventures and pictures and the energy of the stories. We live in Napa Valley and write a wine country blog but recently ventured to far-away wine country in Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and wrote about it on our WordPress blog. Not sure if you’d like to share it on your site or not but here’s a link to our last post from that trip (which has links to the previous posts in it): https://topochinesvino.com/2016/11/06/ive-a-feeling-were-not-in-croatia-anymore/. It was a risky trip as I told my wife “we’re going away for 2 1/2 weeks, I won’t tell you where, but the weather will fluctuate between XX and YY temperatures, and you’ll need clothes for hiking, fancy dinner, and just normal tourist stuff.” I planned everything and I’m happy to report she really loved it.
